We're mid-build on a restaurant remodel that's shaping up to be one of our favorites. The scope covers both the kitchen and the outdoor dining area - two completely different environments that both need to hold up under serious daily use. That's the kind of challenge we genuinely enjoy.

For the outdoor dining space, the choice was a classic two-tone checkerboard tile pattern set on the diagonal. It sounds simple, but getting that layout right across a full patio floor takes careful planning from the very first tile. One off-center starting point and the whole pattern drifts. We don't let that happen.

Restaurant floors take a beating - foot traffic, spills, outdoor elements, chairs dragging across the surface constantly. The materials and the installation method both have to be right. We work with tile that's built for this kind of wear, and we set it in a way that's meant to last for years without lifting, cracking, or shifting at the joints.

What you end up with is a space that looks sharp and actually functions the way a busy restaurant needs it to. A well-done outdoor dining area isn't just about aesthetics - it sets the tone for the guest experience before they even sit down. We take that seriously.

This one's still in progress, and we're excited to see it come together. Between the kitchen work and this outdoor space, the finished product is going to be something the owner can be proud of - and something guests will definitely notice.
